Notes
The Prettiest Star was originally written and released as a single by David Bowie in 1970, later released on his album, Aladdin Sane, in 1973.
The song was covered by Tom as an experiment to see if with his YouTube following he could manage to get a number one in the UK on April 1, 2009 as an April Fools joke. He fell short of his target of number one, but has claimed that he would possibly be willing to try again with a similar experiment in the near future.
Also made available on iTunes and AmazonMP3, is a "stripped down mix" of the song that features only vocals and ukelele.

Lyrics
Cold fire, you've got everything but cold fire
You will be my rest and peace child
I moved up to take a place, near you
So tired, it's the sky that makes you feel tried
It's a trick to make you see wide
It can all but break your heart, in pieces
Staying back in your memory
Are the movies in the dark
How you moved is all it takes
To sing a song of when I loved
The Prettiest Star
One day though it might as well be someday
You and I will rise up all the way
All because of what you are
The Prettiest Star
Staying back in your memory
Are the movies in the past
How you moved is all it takes
To sing a song of when I loved
Prettiest Star
One day though it might as well be someday
You and I will rise up all the way
All because of what you are
The Prettiest Star
