Notes

  • The cover of the single features Chellie Carr as the lead female character from the song, and the photos were taken by her sister, Monica Carr. The two sisters are also known for their YouTube channel together, shortsisters756.
  • A digital booklet for the single is available for free download in PDF format on Alan's website, here.
  • An acoustic demo of the song can be heard on the album's website.
  • The song had to be very quickly changed, as the version featured the orignal Erase This co-artist, Raven Zoë who parted ways professionally with Lastufka due to musical differences very shortly before the release, forcing Lastufka to replace the vocal track with a re-recorded one featuring Luke Conard.

Lyrics

There’s a copy of my cd in your bedroom,
And I keep touching it, to make sure this is real.

You say you know every word and that soon,
You’ll know how all the girls in my liner notes feel.

But you turn down, the one song, I wrote for you.

While you sing, sing, sing your own ending,
I want to start at the beginning.
While you lie, lie, lie there pretending,
My words quietly keep on spinning.

While you sing, sing, sing your own ending,
I want to start at the beginning.
While you lie, lie, lie there pretending,
My words quietly keep on spinning.

Now there’s a pile of my clothes on your floor,
And I know I won’t be able to sleep tonight.

You ask if I’d ever imagined you like this before,
I imagine you’d know, if you’d just get the lyrics right.
